My friend has an iPhone 6 and it says iOS 9.3.5 is up to date. It will not let her update to iOS 10. Since she rarely calls people, she really wants the new Messages.
Any ideas?

I have the same issue. Signing up for beta isn't working for me. Seems like I have to upgrade to 10 first before downloading beta profile.
Hi, please try to check if you have beta profiles in settings - general, if it is the case, delete it and restart the phone, if it does not work you need to restore (backup before) or restore and set up as a new device
